IRS Representation

IRS Representation & Tax Resolution

An IRS letter is not a verdict. Get licensed representation in your corner.

Few pieces of mail raise blood pressure like an IRS envelope. But here is what the notice does not tell you: you have rights, response deadlines, and procedures for challenging or resolving the issue. Our IRS tax resolution guide center explains those procedures; representation is the separate engagement for having us manage them.

As an IRS Enrolled Agent, Samera Harvey holds unlimited federal practice rights before the IRS nationwide — the same IRS representation authority as a CPA or tax attorney. Once you sign Form 2848 (Power of Attorney), the IRS talks to us, not you.

Situations We Resolve

From a confusing CP2000 notice to years of unfiled returns, we handle the full spectrum of IRS matters:

  • IRS notices and letters — CP2000 underreporting, CP14 balances due, and audit letters
  • Correspondence, office, and field audit representation
  • Back taxes and unfiled returns — restoring filing compliance strategically
  • Installment agreements structured around the verified account and sustainable payments
  • Offers in Compromise — settling for less when the financial and procedural standards are met
  • Penalty relief — current administrative relief and reasonable-cause requests
  • Currently Not Collectible status for genuine hardship
  • Wage garnishment, bank levy, and lien resolution

Why Representation Changes Outcomes

Taxpayers who face the IRS alone routinely say too much, miss procedural defenses, and accept outcomes they did not have to accept. A licensed representative knows what the IRS can and cannot do, which program fits your facts, and how to present those facts persuasively.

With Power of Attorney on file, IRS calls and mail route through our office. We respond on time, in the right format, with the right documentation — and you get your life back while it is handled.

Honest Assessments — Not Late-Night-Radio Promises

You have heard the ads promising to settle tax debt for 'pennies on the dollar.' The truth: the IRS accepts Offers in Compromise based on a strict financial formula, and most taxpayers do not qualify — but nearly everyone qualifies for something better than doing nothing: penalty abatement, a workable installment agreement, or hardship status.

We start with a transcript investigation to see exactly what the IRS has on file, then give you a straight answer about your options and realistic outcomes before you spend a dollar on resolution.

IRS Representation FAQs

I received an IRS notice. What should I do first?

Do not ignore it — and do not call the IRS unprepared. Note the notice number (top right) and response deadline, then have a licensed professional review it. Many notices, like the CP2000, are automated and frequently wrong in the taxpayer's favor when properly answered.

Can an Enrolled Agent really represent me like a tax attorney?

For federal administrative IRS matters, EAs, CPAs, and attorneys all hold unlimited practice rights before the IRS, including audits, collections, and appeals. Tax Court litigation, potential criminal exposure, privilege, and other legal issues require separate evaluation, and we refer to tax counsel when appropriate.

Do I qualify to settle my tax debt for less (Offer in Compromise)?

Qualification is a math formula based on your assets, income, and allowable expenses — not a negotiation trick. If the formula shows the IRS cannot collect the full balance before collection statutes expire, an OIC is viable. We run the exact calculation before recommending it.

How fast can you stop a wage garnishment or levy?

We address urgent levy and wage-garnishment matters promptly, but release timing and availability depend on compliance, procedural stage, hardship evidence, and the IRS unit handling the account. Acting before the stated levy date preserves more options than waiting until collection occurs.
